St. Marien

Walking towards Nordermarkt, you will be able to spot the bell tower of the St. Marie’s church already from afar: it is a three-nave Gothic style brick building. The church is not only the oldest inner city church, it is also one of Flensburg’s biggest and most significant of its kind. This impressive stone building, built in 1284, features a phenomenal window-front, created by the renown Flensburg artist Käte Lassen. Besides worships and church services, the famous concerts by the Flensburger Bach-Choir, as well as the Flensburg Organ Summer-Summits, are being held here.
