CHARLOTTE MILL

at the Gelting Birk

Wandering the beautiful landscape of Geltinger Noor, a quaint old lady will greet you at the entrance - it is „Charlotte“, an old and beautiful thatched smock mill. Built in 1826 for draining the backwater and grinding work purposes. Together with a second mill, Charlotte had to pump groundwater from the lowland fields into the Baltic Sea. Today, the mill is in private hands and supplies tourists with a comfy holiday-apartment.
