HUSUM CASTLE

Awash in crocus blossoms by the North Sea

The Husum Castle is one of the most significant cultural centres on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein.

The former state rooms reflect the lives of their erstwhile residents. And with four special exhibitions per year, contemporary art from Schleswig-Holstein is placed in the spotlight. In addition to the museum, the North Frisian Foundation – the body responsible for cultural affairs in North Frisia – and the North Frisian district music school are also located in the castle.

The SchlossCafé is located in the former kitchen. Visitors can indulge themselves here. The café and the garden facilities are maintained by the apprentices of the Theodor Schäfer vocational training centre.
