Beach Life

There are a lot of beaches on the Flensburg Fjord.

You can swim and relax on these.

You have to pay to go on some of the beaches,

but a lot of them are free.

There are beautiful children’s playgrounds.

There are usually parking spaces close to the beach.

You can get to most beaches by bus.

You can hire beach wheelchairs in Glücksburg and Holnis.

BIKE RIDES AND HIKING
ON THE FLENSBURG FJORD

The Flensburg Fjord is a great place for an active holiday.

You can go on bike or on foot

along many paths right next to the water.

There is a great view over the Baltic Sea.

It is peaceful and quiet here.

You can take a bike ride around the towns of HARRISLEE, FLENSBURG, GLÜCKSBURG and LANGBALLIGAU to enjoy nature.

WATER SPORTS ON THE FLENSBURG FJORD

You can do these types of water sports on the Flensburg Fjord, and you can also learn new ones:

For example, in Holnis, Wackerballig

or on Kegnæs and Cathrinesminde in Denmark.

SAILING ON A SHIP

You can go on boat trips on the Flensburg Fjord.

There are

Fjord round trips,

evening trips and

trips to the Baltic Sea resort of Glücksburg.

SHOPPING IN FLENSBURG

Flensburg has the longest shopping street in Schleswig-Holstein.

It begins in Rote Straße with a lot of small shops in old courtyards.

From here we continue to the SÜDERMARKT.

This WEEKLY MARKET is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This is also the entrance to the FLENSBURG GALERIE shopping arcade.

When you go along the HOLM and GROSSE STRASSE streets, you will go past a lot of large and small shops until you get to NORDERMARKT.

NORDERMARKT is a good place to rest.

There are lots of restaurants and bars around the market square.

The final street is NORDERSTRASSE which has small shops and cafés.

There are two large shopping centres with 55 individual shops and lots of restaurants on the outskirts of FLENSBURG.

the CITTIPARK and the FÖRDEPARK.

FAMILY FUN IN ALL WEATHER

The perfect thing to do if it is a rainy day in Flensburg:

  • THE PHENOMENTA is a museum where you do more than just look at things.

    You are allowed to touch them as well.

    You can explore and try out lots of different things.
  • You can go bouldering on climbing walls in the FLENSBLOC.
  • You can run, climb, slide, play and much more in MR. SCANDIS FUNPARK.
