Flensburger Hofkultur

Detail

On balmy summer nights, Flensburg’s Old Town shows its Mediterranean side. It is the ideal setting for extraordinary sounds and images. For several weeks in midsummer, Flensburger Hofkultur, the special summer festival, will transform the historic merchants' and craftsmen's courtyards in the middle of the city into a string of stage pearls. Figure on concerts under the open sky. A truly unique cultural experience!

Pre-sales for the 30th edition have begun. On the opening evening in the courtyard of the Alter Güterbahnhof, you can experience the successors of the Buena Vista Social Club, ECOS DE SIBONEY. The following day, JAN PLEWKA and the Schwarz Rote Heilsarmee will be reminiscing about Rio Reiser in the same courtyard. His programme "Lass uns ein Wunder sein" includes protest songs by his band Ton Steine Scherben as well as classics such as "Halt Dich an Deiner Liebe fest", "Alles Lüge", "Junimond" and "Für immer Dich".

The DRAGSETH TRIO from North Friesland returns to the Marienburg courtyard after almost twenty years. You can also look forward to the Danish Balkan pop artist BJONKO and a summit meeting of the Flensburg scene when AALKREIH and GHOSTTRIP meet at the Maritime Museum. At the Holmhof, things get international when EARLY JAMES is welcomed to Flensburg. The American comes as a quartet with his second album "Strange Times To Be Alive" (produced by Dan Auerbach, The Black Keys). EARLY JAMES is an exceptional musician with an extravagant voice and a fine feel for bluesy guitars.
